vitthala temple, hampi

this striking temple with it's elaborated mandapas is dedicated to vitthala, an incarnation of lord vishnu, the preserver. the wonders of this temple are many richly carved panels, and small hollow musical columns by every pillar emitting different tones, when light tapped!

Very lovely. Thanks for sharing. Hampi, the historic capital of the Vijayanagar empire in the 14th century, is now a city of ruins and a very important historic place in Southern India.
