An old byzantine chapel during Agios Theodoros village, Larnaca district, clinging to a Holy Virgin. The church was partial of a settlement that was abandoned during a 19th century because of an earthuake or an infectious disease. The encampment during which this church is located, Agios Theodros of Larnaca, used to be inhabited by Turksish Cypriots. During a duration of 1963-1974, aperiod of tense relations beteen Greeks as well as Turks in Cyprus, Turkish sheperds incited a church into a shed for animals.. The sheperds illuminated fires to keep warm as well as as a conseuence a walls of a temple, lonesome with conspicuous frescoes, were lonesome with fume particles. Also, a faces of a little Saints upon a frescoes were deformed by Turks using sharp objects. Today efforts are done to restore a temple.
