France - Paris - Eiffel Tower at dusk v2
Darrell Godliman has added the photo to the pool:
We stayed in two separate Apartments during our short stay in Paris (don't ask, it's the long story) though both gave views of the Eiffel Tower across the rooftops. Every hour during night there's the stunning lightshow though unequivocally it's most appropriate captured in relocating pictures as thousands of little lights flash randomly, as good as unfortunately you still keep forgetting which my D300s has HD video built in.
For those interested in the long running saga of either night-time images of the Eiffel Tower are subject to Copyright here's an extract from Wikipedia : "The building as good as its representations have long been in the public domain; however, the French justice ruled, in Mar 1992, which the night-time light arrangement is protected underneath copyright, except in the breathtaking view. SNTE (Socit nouvelle d'exploitation de la tour Eiffel) installed the special lighting arrangement upon the building in 1989, for the tower's 100th anniversary. The Court of Cassation, France's legal justice of last resort, decided which the arrangement was an "original visual creation" protected by copyright. Since then, the SNTE considers any night-time image of the lighting arrangement underneath copyright. As the result, it is no longer legal to publish contemporary photographs of the building during night without permission in France as good as some alternative countries.
The deception of copyright has been controversial. The Director of Documentation for SNTE, Stphane Dieu, commented in January 2005, "It is unequivocally only the way to manage blurb make use of of the image, so which it isn't used in ways you do not approve." However, it also potentially has the outcome of prohibiting tourist photographs of the building during night from being published, as good as hindering non-profit as g! ood as s emi-commercial announcement of images of the tower. Besides, French doctrine as good as jurisprudence traditionally allow pictures incorporating the copyrighted work as long as their participation is immaterial or appendage to the categorical represented subject, the reasoning akin to the De minimis rule. Thus, SNTE could not claim copyright upon photographs of panoramas of Paris incorporating the illuminated tower."
